Meet the boys
Ben Harris is our drummer and longest member. While many know Ben for his drumming- having played for too many bands for us to even get into here- he’s focused on honing in his skills as a producer and engineer in recent years.
Working under the name O.A.H., Ben has played a integral part in all the music by our band, having not only mixed and mastered our releases, but the new album by bandmate Matt Duplissey; as well as the new single by Plumes.
Through all of these great accomplishments, Ben is still haunted by the time he won the Guitar Center Drum Off, but was later disqualified for being three minutes late. Lastly, Ben is a skilled craftsman and woodworker, focused mainly on custom furniture and studio equipment.
Alex Thornton plays guitar, bass, lap steel, and as of recently: pedal steel- a purchase he made while on tour in the Midwest.
His dedication to the craft has put him high in demand as a gun for hire, allowing him to play for projects across a range of musical styles.
Alex, who is also a member of the beloved “Deepsea Daniels” (a band he founded with Shane Sussman, bassist), now writes and produces music under the title, Plumes. Recently, Alex has taken up running, because “swimming was too much of a hassle”.
Shane Sussman is our bassist, longest living member, and in his own words, “a father figure to the band.” More than a figure, Shane is also father to his feline son, Joseph Tiger.
Also a member of the Deepsea Daniels, Shane has played for many local projects, including Pop Free, Gabbi Handsaw, and his own project, Pond Scum.
When he’s not rumbling stages, Shane can be found rumbling large metal devices in his work as a machinist- doing everything from R&D for medical devices to manufacturing specialty vinyl cutting lathes. If that’s not enough; Shane is an avid hockey player and skater, and his whiskey selection is impeccable.
Matt Duplissey plays synths and keyboards for Happy Rabbit. Recently, Matt released his first solo album, “Thanks Eddie”: a collection of songs written at home on the family piano, and recorded in the garage.
More than just a musician, however, Matt’s been following a lifelong fascination of storytelling; having worked on music videos/short films since he was in high school, and a LOT earlier (LINK).
Matt is also one third of Speedboat, a production company shared with bandmates Sam and Lucky. Whether he’s writing scripts, producing, directing, editing or even acting- Matt is at home on set. Matt nearly broke into stardom after being given a front line pass at an America’s Got Talent audition, but his spot was later replaced because “someone had a sadder sob story” than him.
SAM AND LUCKY ARE A DUO FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, both composers, producers and vocalists for the band. They love good food, elevator jazz, and dolly parton. Album two is on the way.
